Full Description: Huntley & Palmers gave away these free samples as a method of advertising a new product. In the 1930s cake production was dramatically increased by the firm and this Dundee Cake tin reflects the growing importance attached to cakes by Huntley & Palmers. This tin was made by Huntley, Boorne & Stevens of Reading and is decorated with the royal coat of arms, a silver and blue art nouveau design with flowers and the Huntley & Palmers motif.
