Brief Description: Framed colour-tinted architectural print of the Huntley & Palmers factory in Huyton, Liverpool
Subject Date: 1954
Creator: Frank. A Weemys, Huckle, Durkin

Full Description: Prior to the Second World War Huntley & Palmers had been experiencing a labour shortage, in particular the recruitment of women for packing. The technological innovations that were introduced to the factory in the early 1950s led to a massive increase in output which only exacerbated the labour shortage. This led to the opening of a factory at Huyton in Liverpool where most of the packaging of biscuits was carried out.
