Brief Description: Joseph Leete's original 1865 price lists. Continental price list
Subject Date: 1865

Full Description: In 1865 Samuel Palmer engaged Joseph Leete as Continental Sales Representative in Europe. Leete set to work and in his first full year, 1866, brought over £10,000 worth of business to the firm. He would often arrange for a blindfold tasting by potential clients of both Huntley & Palmers and their rivals biscuits. This single sheet price list is the original export and continental price list carried by Leete when he started representing the firm in Europe on 1 April 1865. By 1867 he had secured Royal Warrants from Leopold II of Belgium and Napoleon III of France.
