Brief Description: Employees were to receive an extra week's salary to mark the visit of HRH the Prince of Wales on 12 May 1926
Subject Date: 1926
Publisher: Huntley & Palmers
Full Description: This small card would have been placed inside the employees' wage packet. The Prince of Wales's visit was postponed due to the General Strike between 3 and 13 May 1926. He visited Reading in June and had a crowded day of engagements, including a visit to Huntley & Palmers in what was mistakenly believed to be the company's centenary year - in fact the company was already 104 years old!
