Full Description: George William Palmer (1851-1913) was George Palmer's eldest son. He became a member of Reading Council in 1882 and was Mayor in 1889-90. It was during his term as mayor that his father announced that he was giving Palmer Park to the town. In 1892 he became MP for Reading and remained a MP until 1904, apart from a break between 1895-1898.
