Brief Description: A colour photograph of the brickwork above the window of a house at 183 Elgar Road
Subject Date: 1980 - 1985
Creator: Jim Harold

Full Description: Many of the houses in Elgar Road feature elaborate terra cotta features. The Waterloo Brickworks, which was bought by Colliers, was nearby and many of these fancy panels may have come from there. Simple designs such as the ones shown here are often overlooked, but they give many of Reading's terraced houses an attractive surface.
