Full Description: This iced cake was probably made to commemorate the completion of the new office building on Kings Road in 1937. It also features views of Reading landmarks including the Town Hall, Caversham Bridge, the University and the Maiwand Lion in the Forbury Gardens. The Icing Department was responsible for decorating many royal wedding cakes; several generations of the Bryant family were head of this department.
